Sh2 249 is also known as Dark Nebula LBN 841. It is located about 5,000 light-years from the Earth. The bright star μ Geminorum is seen near the lower left corner of this picture. Irregular dark nebula can be seen above μ Geminorum.

This photo was taken in Kyle, Texas through a 6-inch f/4 Telescope, on a Sky-Watcher EQ6-R mount, with a ZWO ASI533MC PRO color camera plus an Optolong L Pro Light Pollution Filter. The processing was done in PixInsight. The total image acquisition time is: 17 hours 06 minutes 00 Seconds.
