M 76 on 2025-10-18,19,20 The Little Dumbell Nebula
The Little Dumbbell Nebula, also known as Messier 76, NGC 650/651, the Barbell Nebula, or the Cork Nebula, is a planetary nebula in the northern constellation of Perseus. The nebula derives its common name from its resemblance to the visually larger Dumbbell Nebula (M27). The distance to M76 is estimated to be about 2,500 light years. M76 is currently classed as a type of bipolar planetary nebula, composed of a ring which we see edge-on as the central bar structure, and two lobes on either opening of the ring. This photo was taken in Kyle, Texas through a 6-inch f/4 Telescope, on a ZWO AM5 mount, with a ZWO ASI533MC PRO color camera plus a dual-band Ha-O III filter. The processing was done in PixInsight. The total image acquisition time is: 14 hours 00 minutes 00 seconds.
