M 46 Open Cluster on 2025-12-09, also named NGC 2437

M 46 also contains the tiny planetary nebula NGC 2438

M 46 is estimated to be about 300 million years old. The cluster is about 5,400 light years from our solar system. This photo was taken in Kyle, Texas through a 4.5-inch f/4 Telescope on a Sky-Watcher EQ6-R mount, with a ZWO ASI533MC PRO color camera plus a Optolong L Pro Light Pollution Filter. The processing was done in PixInsight. The total image acquisition time is: 1 hr 46 min 00 sec.
