Sh2 199, THE SOUL NEBULA on 2024-09-28,29,30 & 10-10,11
Sh2 199, The Soul Nebula, is an
emission nebula, ionised by stars belonging to the open star cluster IC 1848. It
is is about 7,500 light-years away from the Earth, in the constellation
Cassiopeia, and is the location of the radio source W5. It is a massive
star-forming region and also contains several other small open clusters embedded
within the nebula: CR 34, 632, and 634.
This photo was taken in Kyle, Texas through a 4.5-inch f/4 Telescope, on a ZWO AM5 Mount, with a ZWO ASI533MC PRO color camera plus a dual-band H-Alpha & O-III Filter. The processing was done in PixInsight. The total image acquisition time is: 16 hrs 42 min 00 sec.
